Ribbon Mobile

I came up with the idea to make a ribbon mobile after I saw something kind of like this in a PotteryBarn Kids catalog* and decided I really wanted to make it for S's room. And, here we are. I really do love it and S loves to stare at, especially when the fan blows it a bit.
Speaking of S, she is just about ready to crawl. Yesterday, while doing some dishes, one minute she was on the far side of the rug and then I turn back around a minute later and she's practically in the kitchen, which was a bit of a distance. I was quite surprised; it seems she's progressed from the scooting backwards bit and has realized that it's forward motion that gets ya' places. Oh, and she loves to stare at her hands. It is really funny because she gets so fascinated with them.
Mr. M served his stuffed animals breakfast today on a little plastic dish set that I got from the thrift store for $.99 a little while ago. He loves it.
*One thing I do is study the rooms and layouts of catalogs like PottryBarn Kids and Land of Nod. You can find some neat crafts and decorations that you can make yourself or that will give inspiration for something.

I love the mobile, it's so pretty! Little S must be growing up so fast - how time is flying at the moment :)
Hope you've had a good weekend
-youknowwho ;-)
Great idea! It's amazing how quickly they learn new thing isn't it? Esme stood on her own the other day, it won't be long before she's walking.
I love the mobile. Lots of great colors and movement. I do the same thing with catalogs. I have so many pages torn out of Anthropologie right now it would take years to reproduce it all. One of my favorites of all time from Land of Nod was the fabric pennant garland with the edges finished with pinking shears.
no lie, you're insanely talented. when i ever get stupormom.com up and running, i plan to have a place to sell things that other moms make. wanna vend? and, if i send you the yarn, would you make me just a t?!
swooooooooooooooooon
