Wednesday - winning, watching and walking

As I was stepping out the door yesterday afternoon to run a few errands before the stores closed, I found a wonderful package from Marianne. Back a while ago, Marianne decided to give some goodies away and I happened to be one of the names drawn from the hat. Well, it came, and I've got some wonderfully soft, new yarn to play with and some wonderful material to sew. I already have ideas traipsing through my mind. We'll see if I can actually harness one and turn it into something.

She also sent along a cute cuddly lamb that can be embroidered (I plan to give this to S) and some wonderful trim and buttons. Thank you do much, Marianne!

Oh, my husband and I came across this great documentary on PBS last night on their POV(Point of View) series. It was called Hardwood. We came in towards the end, but it basically was about the a former Harlem Globetrotter and how his life, his influence or lack thereof, affected his family back at home. At least that's what my 15 minutes got me. The cinematography was incredible and the stories were moving. I wish I could have seen it from the beginning. I found out it was also nominated for an Academy Award, which doesn't surprise me.

Finally, some pictures from our morning walk.
